Why do I need to do repairs?

Another great question, with a very simple answer. "Repairs are a necessity when it comes to protecting your home!  Here are a few reasons to consider.

  • In our climate, extreme heat, bitter cold, high humidity, heavy rain, mold and mildew are constantly assaulting the exterior of your home. Weather is one of the worst combatants to the exterior paint as well as the materials covering your house.

  • The last painter failed to do the job the proper way. Poor prep, cheap paint, altered paint, improper application methods combined with the failure to make necessary repairs before painting.

  • Prior repairs that were done incorrectly by unqualified or unskilled persons.

  • Cheap materials, incorrect materials, cheap labor and poor workmanship from a builder, including the original paint job

  • If you are selling the house, it is a good idea to have all repairs done prior to an inspection. Inspectors are paid to find things wrong with your home! The less they find the better. If repairs are done before hand, they could potentially increase the overall appeal and value of your home, making it easier to sell. You are going to pay for these repairs one way or the other, so get it done up front. That way it reduces the negative effect on your bottom dollar at sale time.

With all of the above reasons being mentioned, the bottom line is simple. Repairs must be done! Allowing damaged areas to remain unrepaired often leads to more damage and even more repairs, which can be very costly. Burriss Painting and Repairs does not believe in painting over areas that are in definite need of repair. It is not a wise business practice and it results in a inferior paint job costing you the client money in the long run.
